Summer Programs
It's impossible to list ALL available summer programs. Please use this list as a sampling of what's out there.
From the academic, artistic and athletic to the altruistic and adventurous, hundreds of "formal" summer programs eagerly await your perusal. Many college campuses across the nation sponsor summer programs, providing you with an "early look" at a prospective university. Whatever your interests are, or perhaps one you didn't know you had, using your summers wisely will provide you with opportunities to broaden your horizons and discover new passions. Diversifying your interests will assist you in providing a greater scope of who you are when it comes time to apply to college. Colleges seek individuals who have challenged themselves -- both in and out of school.
Two excellent resources are:
Peterson's, a website with a very useful and searchable database of summer programs, as well as the Yale Daily News Guide to Summer Programs, a book created by Kaplan, the test prep agency.
If you're looking for a change of scenery and a job this summer, including jobs at camps and resorts, check out Coolworks.com.
Almost every college campus offers a summer session, some geared towards high school students, some not. If you are interested in a specific college or university's summer program we recommend that you visit that college/university's website and do a search or call the admissions office at that particular college or university and ask about summer session.
